Al Garhoud Hotel

VR Mockups, Dubai
Home / Portfolio / Design

1. Experience

This VR was for Al Garhoud Hotel, I think it was the main Consultant and not the Client that wanted to impress with VR. We were trying to offer an alternative method to construction Mockups. The idea here was to provide an extremely flexible and iterative workflow that could mitigate upto 90% of a traditional mockup pipline including cost. Allowing for design decisions that would typically be played out in the real world, moved to a virtual one.
With the only "real" mockup being the final to check finishes.

2. Result

The timeline was tight as always with Viz work but I think we developed a viable prototype. We used the Arch Viz package on unreal market place purely becasue it was faster than developing our own and had all the functionality we need to pitch. Again I don't even think the client saw it in the end and the leadership at the time had "other" priorities than VR.

3. Role

I developed everything except the material and model swapping which was handled by the Arch Viz Asset.
